Distributed Geographic Information (or DGI) is a term given to describe any GIS related material which is made available on the internet, whether freely distributed or sold for profit. DGI can refer to any geographically related information, that is to say, any information which helps emphasize spatial relations. This can include a number of products from a basic map to complex geographic databases.
